A teenage male is fighting for his life after being shot Tuesday evening in Turtle Creek, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

County 9-1-1 received a report of a shooting at 5:38 p.m. in the 400 block of James Street. First responders arrived and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound before he was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Homicide detectives leading investigation

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene after receiving a request for assistance in Turtle Creek. Detectives have since taken over the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Authorities have not released the victim’s age, identified any suspects, or disclosed what may have led to the incident. Additional details were not immediately available Tuesday night.
