The confrontation began as a verbal dispute before turning physical around 2:30 a.m., authorities said.

Emergency responders arrived at 1004 4th Avenue following reports of a stabbing shortly after 2:30 a.m. The injured man was treated at the scene before being transported to NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, where he was listed in stable condition.
