FREEHOLD, N.J. — National arcade and restaurant chain Dave & Buster’s will open its doors at the Freehold Raceway Mall on Monday, May 12 at 11 a.m., marking the latest expansion of the company’s footprint in New Jersey. Dave & Buster’s currently operates more than 160 locations across North America. In New Jersey, the company maintains sites in Woodbridge, Wayne, and Fairfield, with Freehold becoming the fourth location in the state. Each venue features a range of modern and retro arcade games, a sports bar with HDTVs, and space for private parties and corporate events.

Founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1982, Dave & Buster’s was launched by entrepreneurs David Corriveau and James “Buster” Corley. The concept merged Corriveau’s arcade business with Corley’s restaurant operation, creating a combined space that has since become a staple of family entertainment. The company went public in 2014 under the NASDAQ ticker PLAY.

Visitors to the Freehold location can expect daily operating hours typically ranging from late morning until midnight or later, though specific hours may vary. The company also allows for advanced reservations, birthday and private party bookings, and custom corporate event packages.

A new entertainment hub for Monmouth County

The Freehold Raceway Mall location includes a game room with hundreds of machines, a full dining area, and private party spaces. Dave & Buster’s also hosts regularly scheduled events such as trivia nights, UFC viewing parties, and half-price game Wednesdays. The facility is accessible via the mall’s interior and an external entrance near the parking deck.

According to the company’s website, group event planning is available directly through the venue, and guests can book rooms for parties, team outings, or milestone celebrations. Customizable food and drink packages are also offered for larger gatherings.

Dave & Buster’s uses a rechargeable card system for gameplay, allowing visitors to load credits and track tickets electronically. Many locations, including the new Freehold site, participate in the D&B Rewards program, offering repeat visitors exclusive discounts and bonus credit promotions.

Dave & Buster’s continues to expand in key suburban markets, positioning itself as a major destination for dining and digital entertainment in New Jersey.
