Homicide investigation underway after man killed on Oxon Hill Road

Oxon Hill, MD – A late-night shooting along a busy Prince George’s County roadway has left a 47-year-old man dead as homicide detectives work to identify who pulled the trigger and why.

The shooting occurred Tuesday night at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found a man outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim as Ricardo Lee Vance, 47, of Oxon Hill. Detectives with the Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit say they are actively working to determine a motive and identify any suspect or suspects connected to the killing.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.
