Gas station scratcher delivers lifetime payday in Fayette County

$5 scratcher explodes into $10000 a month for life win at Fayette County Sunoco

WHARTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A $5 Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off purchased at a Sunoco along National Pike has delivered a top prize of $10,000 a month for life, setting up a Fayette County ticket holder for decades of guaranteed payments.

The winning ticket was sold at Sunoco JG Service Stations, 4142 National Pike, Wharton Township, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.

The $10,000 a Month for Life Scratch-Off is a $5 game that offers players two payout options: $10,000 each month for life or a one-time cash option of $1.6 million, less applicable withholding. Lottery officials did not release details about the winner.

Scratch-Off tickets are distributed at random across Pennsylvania. The Lottery and its retailers do not know where winning tickets will be sold. The location of a winning ticket is identified only after the prize has been claimed.

All prizes over $5,000 are subject to applicable state and federal withholding. Scratch-Off prizes expire one year from the game’s end-sale date posted at palottery.com.

The Pennsylvania Lottery advises winners to sign the back of their ticket and contact the Lottery to begin the claims process.

For one player in Fayette County, a single scratch has now secured a monthly payment that could last a lifetime.
