Gunshots send 15-year-old to hospital in latest city shooting

BALTIMORE, Md. — A teenage boy was injured in a shooting Monday evening after a shot-spotter alert drew police to the 700 block of North Gilmor Street in the city’s Western District.

At approximately 6:05 p.m. on May 19, officers responded to the area and found a 15-year-old male suffering from a graze wound to the hip. Medics transported the teen to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation by Western District Shooting detectives. No arrests have been reported, and a motive has not been disclosed.

The shooting occurred less than 30 minutes after an unrelated homicide was reported in the city’s Eastern District, where an 18-year-old male was killed on East Preston Street.

Detectives are asking anyone with knowledge of the North Gilmor Street shooting to contact the Western District Shooting Unit at 410-396-2477.
