Woman struck and killed by SUV in hit-and-run on Eastern Avenue

Washington, DC – A late-night walk turned deadly for a 40-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a fleeing SUV while standing in the roadway along Eastern Avenue in Northeast D.C. on Saturday.

Angela Boston, a resident of Northeast D.C., was found alive but seriously injured after being hit just before 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Eastern Avenue. She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where she died after emergency crews were unable to save her.

Investigators say Boston was in the southeast-bound lane when an unidentified black SUV with tinted windows struck her and then sped off without stopping. The vehicle was last seen heading down Eastern Avenue, and no arrest has been made.

Detectives from the Major Crash Investigations Unit are continuing to piece together what happened, reviewing any surveillance footage and seeking tips from the public. No suspect description beyond the vehicle has been released.
