Man arrested after alleged online attempt to meet teen for sex in North Tonawanda

North Tonawanda, NY — A months-long investigation into alleged online activity led to the arrest of a Lockport man who police say traveled to meet a minor.

The case began in February when detectives with the North Tonawanda Police Department launched an investigation into 30-year-old Devon Kutis. Authorities said investigators determined Kutis had been attempting to solicit a minor through a social media platform.

On April 30, detectives arrested Kutis after he traveled to North Tonawanda to meet what he believed was a 14-year-old victim.

Kutis has been charged with attempted rape in the second degree, a felony involving an adult accused of targeting a minor under 15.

He was taken into custody and booked pending arraignment.

Police said the investigation underscores concerns about online interactions involving minors and urged anyone with similar information to contact the North Tonawanda Police Department Detective Bureau at 716-692-4312.
