DC robbery escalates into felony case as trio vanishes into the night

Washington, DC – A robbery in Northeast D.C. early Wednesday morning has been reclassified as a felony case involving threats and assault, prompting an urgent manhunt for three suspects still at large.

At approximately 1 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s 6th District responded to the 3500 block of Hayes Street NE, where the initial report of a robbery has now been updated to include charges of Felony Threats and Simple Assault.

The primary suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male with a light complexion, last seen wearing dark grey jeans. He was accompanied by two Black females, though further details about their appearance remain undisclosed.

The incident occurred within the boundaries of Police Service Areas (PSA) 601 to 608. Police have not confirmed if a weapon was displayed or whether any items were stolen. No injuries have been reported.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators have not released surveillance footage or indicated if the trio is believed to be connected to other recent incidents in the area.
