Philadelphia Police Investigating Overnight Shooting and Stabbing

PHILADELPHIA — A shooting and a stabbing occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in different parts of the city, leaving two men injured, according to police reports.

In the 17th District, a 32-year-old man was shot at 10xx S. 18th Street at 3:17 a.m. The victim, described as a white male, was struck once in the lower back and once in the left leg. Officers transported him to Jefferson Hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Police recovered a weapon at the scene and have taken a male into custody for further investigation.

Later in the evening, a stabbing took place inside a Popeyes restaurant in the 35th District at 60xx N. Broad Street. A 28-year-old black male suffered multiple stab wounds to his body at around 11:04 p.m. He was transported to Einstein Medical Center by Medic 18 and is also in stable condition. The scene is being held as the Northwest Detective Division continues to investigate.

Both incidents remain under investigation, with police working to determine the circumstances surrounding each case.
