WILKES-BARRE, PA—A robbery occurred on May 1 on South Main Street, prompting officers from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department to take action. At approximately 3:25 a.m., authorities arrived at the location following a report of the crime.
The incident involved two suspects, an unidentified Black male and a Black female, and a 55-year-old white male victim from Wilkes-Barre. The victim claimed that while he was using a restroom in a business, the suspects followed him inside. They then demanded money with one suspect threatening the victim with a broomstick.
The victim complied by handing over $70 in cash. Afterwards, both suspects reportedly left the scene in a white Kia sedan, evading immediate capture by the authorities.
The Wilkes-Barre City Police have stated that investigations into the incident are currently ongoing. No further information about the suspects’ identities has been released.
According to the police report, “the victim stated that he handed over seventy dollars in cash before both suspects fled.”
