Man Arrested for Drug and Firearm Offenses in Dorchester

**Boston, MA** – Officers from the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Unit conducted a drug interdiction in Dorchester’s Grove Hall neighborhood, resulting in the arrest of 51-year-old Manestreem Forty-Four of Greensboro, Alabama, on Saturday.

The operation followed community complaints about drug activities and the illicit sale of unstamped cigarettes affecting local businesses. Acting on the intelligence gathered, officers from the B-2 unit performed targeted patrols to address these issues.

On Friday around 11:00 AM, officers observed Forty-Four engaged in several hand-to-hand transactions from his vehicle, which led to individuals leaving with illegal Newport cigarettes. Surveillance continued into Saturday around noon, where officers spotted similar actions.

Upon contacting Forty-Four, he resisted arrest but was quickly subdued. A search of his vehicle uncovered cash, unstamped cigarettes, bags of marijuana, and a loaded 9mm firearm. Forty-Four is set for arraignment in Dorchester District Court facing charges including drug possession, unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, and other related offenses.
