Serial burglary suspect busted after string of break-ins across Northwest DC

WASHINGTON, DC – A months-long string of burglaries and thefts across Northwest DC ended Saturday when a Southeast man was arrested and charged in connection with a series of property crimes spanning the Second and Third Police Districts.

Ryan Harding, 30, was taken into custody on Saturday under a DC Superior Court arrest warrant following a targeted investigation. He now faces multiple felony charges related to burglary, theft, and unlawful entry, all linked to a pattern of break-ins dating back to the summer.

Among the most serious charges are two counts of Burglary One for incidents on October 27 and November 6 in the 1800 block of Biltmore Street NW. Both occurred in the morning hours and were reported less than two weeks apart.

Investigators also tied Harding to three separate theft incidents, including two on November 4 at different times at the same location — the 1700 block of Willard Street NW — and one earlier theft on August 9 in the 2200 block of 11th Street NW.

Authorities further linked him to a pair of Theft Two cases, one involving an incident along Massachusetts Avenue on October 1 and another in the early hours of November 4, again on Willard Street.

An additional charge of Unlawful Entry was filed for an incident on the evening of November 15, also on Willard Street, suggesting a repeated focus on the same residential block.

The arrest is expected to close multiple open cases across the two districts, where investigators had been tracking a similar suspect profile and timeline.
