Teen scooter thief caught on camera after brazen grocery store grab in North Tonawanda

Police say a juvenile walked into Tops Markets and rolled out with a stolen electric scooter

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — Police in North Tonawanda are asking for the public’s help identifying a juvenile accused of stealing an electric scooter from a grocery store earlier this month.

According to the North Tonawanda Police Department, the theft happened May 11 at approximately 6 p.m. inside Tops Markets, located at 301 Meadow Drive.

Investigators said the juvenile entered the store and stole a dark-colored Hiboy electric scooter before leaving the area.

Authorities released an image of the individual as detectives continue working to identify the suspect involved in the theft.

Police have not released additional details about how the scooter was taken or whether the vehicle has been recovered.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the North Tonawanda Detective Bureau at (716) 692-4312.

The investigation remains ongoing.
