LUSBY, Md. — Three people are in custody after a late-night drive-by shooting struck a home on H.G. Trueman Road where a toddler and two adults were inside, authorities said. The gunfire damaged the residence but left all occupants — including a 3-year-old child — unharmed, according to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 10:56 p.m. Sunday to the 11400 block of H.G. Trueman Road and found shell casings scattered across the roadway along with visible damage to the exterior of the home.
Suspects identified and quickly apprehended
Detectives from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau took over the case and, through a preliminary investigation, identified three suspects: Krystal Marie Davis, 23; Damar Malik Abney, 23; and Takwon Demarion Mason, 21 — all from Waldorf.
With assistance from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, authorities located and arrested all three individuals shortly after the shooting.
Gunfire hits occupied home
Investigators confirmed that a 24-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, and a 3-year-old child were inside the residence at the time shots were fired. Despite the presence of multiple people inside, no injuries were reported.
The discovery of shell casings in the roadway indicates shots were fired from outside the home, consistent with a drive-by scenario.
