Gunfire erupts across New York City on Christmas Eve, five shot

NEW YORK, NY – In the hours leading up to the big day, Christmas morning, police in New York City have reported five people had been shot overnight. Four men were hit outside a bodega on Friday night located on Nostrand Avenue. A male suspect approached the Nostrand Deli and began firing at men standing in front.

A 39-year-old male was struck in the back and is in critical condition. A 50-year-old male was shot in the buttocks. Two others received non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the foot and thigh. The shooting happened just before midnight.

In another shooting, a man was shot outside a strip club on Avenue D. in Flatbush. Police in New York also reported a shooting at a bus stop on 1st Avenue and East 14th Street, but nobody was hit in that shooting.
