Newark Man Arrested for Gloucester Township Shooting

Gloucester Township, NJ- A Newark man is in jail after having been arrested and charged with first degree attempted murder for shooting a man in Gloucester Township in August.

Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins said the arrest stemmed from an August 5 shooting.

“At approximately 9:49 a.m., Gloucester Township Police were dispatched to a home on Hidden Drive in Gloucester Township, for a report of a person shot.  Upon arrival at the home, officers located a 34-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.  The man was transported to Cooper University Hospital by Gloucester Township EMS. Detectives of the CCPO Major Crimes Unit and Gloucester Township Police began an investigation,” police said.

On August 22, 2022, with the assistance of the Riverside Township Police Department, Saladin Stafford, 34, was arrested on Scott Street in Riverside Township, Burlington County, in connection to the shooting incident earlier this month in Gloucester Township.

Riverside Township Police separately charged Stafford with fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
