FREDERICK COUNTY, VA – The Frederick County Virginia Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash that took place Saturday in Frederick County. At this time sheriff’s office detectives are searching for a suspect and asking the public who may have witnessed the event to come forward if they have any information that can help police in their investigation.
“Trooper N. Hobbs is investigating a property damage crash that occurred at 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 7 (Berryville Pike) and Gateway Drive. An unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Rte. 7 when it ran a red light and collided with a southbound 2008 Lexus sedan that was attempting a left turn,” VSP said in a statement. “The suspect’s vehicle did not stop at the scene and is possible a dark-colored truck or SUV. It should have front passenger side damage.”
The driver of the Lexus, a 56-year-old female, of Winchester, Va., was not injured in the crash. She was wearing a seatbelt.
According to police investigating the incident, no suspects or motives have been announced at this time. No arrests have been made.
