WALDORF, MD – A Navy veteran who won $100,000 on a Maryland lottery scratch-off ticket said she wants to use her winnings to help people find affordable housing opportunities.

“The lucky player, a retired U.S. Navy veteran, is calling herself “Set Sail” to tell her winning story. The 42-year-old said she had a busy morning dropping her kids off around town but managed to purchase the lucky scratch-off on her way home,” the Maryland Lottery said today.

“I was crying and yelling. My husband, who was in the next room, had to come see what was happening,” she said. “I am looking into real estate investments and would like to build a community of affordable housing – specifically a group of tiny houses.”
