NEW YORK, NY – Police in Brooklyn are searching for a suspect who randomly selected a 67-year-old man and began beating him in broad daylight early Wednesday morning near Bridge Plaza.
The violent assault that took place in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning has left a 67-year-old man hospitalized and the NYPD searching for the perpetrator.
According to an NYPD police report, the incident occurred at around 7:00 am in front of 66 Willoughby Street in the 84th Precinct.
The victim was walking along the street when he was approached by an unknown man, who proceeded to punch him in the face without any provocation. The victim fell and hit his head on a parked car and the pavement. The suspect fled the scene, running eastbound on Willoughby Street.
The victim was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn and is said to be in stable condition.
Police have released a description of the suspect, who is believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, with a dark complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, white socks, and black slippers.
