Newark Police Seek Help Identifying Business Burglary Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – On April 18, 2023, a burglary took place at a Dollar General store in Newark, prompting Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé to request the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. The individual, described as a Black male, was captured on surveillance footage wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, a white t-shirt wrapped around his face, and a black cap.

The Newark Police Division is asking anyone with information about the suspect or the burglary to contact their Crime Stoppers tip line.

They are offering a cash reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction. The suspect is believed to have made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise from the store.

Director Fragé emphasized the importance of community cooperation in solving crimes and maintaining public safety. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information related to the Dollar General burglary.
