Man found Dead in Bronx Bathroom was Murdered, Medical Examiner Finds

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Medical Examiners Office today reported that a man found dead inside his Bronx apartment in April was murdered.

On Friday, April 14, the NYPD received a 911 call regarding an unconscious male at 1463 Hoe Avenue in the Bronx. Upon arrival, 42nd Precinct officers discovered a 48-year-old male lying face-up on the bathroom floor, showing signs of trauma.

Emergency Medical Services arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death as compression of the neck, ruling it a homicide. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased has been identified as Yaya Kouyate, a 48-year-old male, a resident of the apartment.
