Multiple victims shot, one dead in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – Detectives with the NYPD’s 42nd Precinct are investigating after three people were shot and one was killed in a shooting in the Bronx.

Multiple people were shot on Sunday at around 9:15 p.m. Police received a 911 call reporting the incident, which occurred in front of 1787 West Farms Road in the Bronx near Starlight Park.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 34-year-old man who had been shot in the torso. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Two other individuals, both 29-year-old males, had also sustained gunshot wounds. One had been shot in the torso, while the other was shot in the buttocks. They were taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital by private means and were reported to be in stable condition. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased has been identified as Jeremy Cancel, a 34-year-old male from Yonkers.
