Wall Township police fitness program helps kids stay in shape during summer

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Last Thursday, the Wall Police Department kicked off its Youth Fitness Program, aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for kids entering grades 6, 7, and 8.

The group meets weekly and engages in a variety of activities designed to get them moving and learning about proper nutrition.

In the first session, the group was joined by Stephanie from Neffs Nutrition, who gave a creative and interactive presentation on diet and nutrition. Later, Jeremy from Atlantic Physical Therapy led the group in a medicine ball exercise while discussing optimal activity times and exercise for youth. The session ended with the group heading to an obstacle course at Police Headquarters, where they completed challenging physical activities as a team. The event was a huge success, and the group has four more fun-filled nights planned for the program.

It’s not too late to sign up for the program, which takes place on Thursday evenings. Those interested can register on Community Pass through Wall Recreation. The Youth Fitness Program is an excellent opportunity for kids to stay active, learn about proper nutrition, and have fun with their peers.
