Child Struck by Bullet at Home in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – A child, aged nine, is recuperating from minor injuries after an overnight shooting incident at a home.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 16, at 3:49 a.m. at the 6600 block of Idlewild Road.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police reported that upon their arrival, they found evidence that the residence had been shot into, and a 9-year-old child was found with a gunshot wound to the foot.

The child was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of the minor injuries.

The case is currently open and ongoing, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are requesting anyone with additional information to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
