Police Investigating After Teen Reportedly Fired Shots on Douglas Street

CAMBRIDGE, MD – On Saturday, at around 6:40 pm, officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to three “Shot Spotter Alerts” in the 700 block of Douglas Street.

The alerts indicated multiple shots fired, which were confirmed upon officers’ arrival by the discovery of several spent shell casings in the roadway.

According to the initial investigation, an unidentified young woman stated that she may have been the intended target of the gunfire. However, she refused to provide further information to officers.

Descriptions of the suspect, a 17-year-old African American male, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, and dark complexion, were also obtained.

During the investigation, a residence was discovered to have been struck by gunfire, causing damage to the property’s siding. Police are currently seeking assistance from the public.
