LANCASTER COUNTY, PA – Derrick Santryal Myers, 34, from the 200 block of W. Main Street in Strasburg, was convicted on Thursday of rape of a child and 21 other related charges.

The offenses reportedly occurred around 2018. The jury reached their verdict after a 35-minute deliberation, concluding a four-day trial overseen by Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth.

Assistant District Attorney Amy Muller, who prosecuted the case, presented evidence including oil/lubricant bottles used in the assaults and a condom with both the defendant and victim’s DNA.

The defense argued against the neutrality of the Children’s Alliance witnesses and claimed the disclosure was forced. However, Muller countered that this doesn’t explain the DNA evidence.

Judge Ashworth has ordered a presentence investigation and sexually violent predator determination. Sentencing will be announced at a later date, and bail has been increased from $500,000 to $1 million.
