BALTIMORE — An 88-year-old man from Baltimore has struck luck by winning $100,000 on Pick 5, amplifying his zest for life.

For years, the elated winner played variations of his birthday on Pick 3 and Pick 4. His foray into Pick 5 began when the game was introduced in February 2022. His jubilation was evident when his birth year (19350) won in May’s Pick 5. The victory was doubly sweet for him, as he had played two tickets, earning him the sumptuous $100,000 prize.

Despite his age, the winner is an active worker in the construction field and continues to operate machinery. He emphasizes the importance of regular eye check-ups and confidently maintains that he is healthy enough to work full-time. The newfound wealth doesn’t deter his commitment to work either. He recalls retiring for a span of six years only to find himself restless and bored. “I don’t need to work. I love to go to work,” he shared. “I love to get up early. It gives me a purpose.”

While he hasn’t earmarked any specific plans for his windfall, he anticipates that it might be used to assist his children and their respective families.

The octogenarian has every intention of continuing his tryst with the Lottery while relishing every moment of life. Reflecting on his longevity and blessings, he said, “It’s by the grace of God that I am still here. I feel very blessed.”

As for where he clinched the victory, he mentioned that while he buys tickets from various outlets, it was the Patapsco Village Liquors at 3434 Annapolis Road that handed him the two triumphant $50,000 tickets. The store is set to receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the two winning tickets.
