NEW YORK, NY – A search warrant resulted in the arrest of five individuals on multiple drug and weapon charges, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. The search, conducted at a residence in Queens Village, yielded over 4 kilograms of fentanyl-laced cocaine and heroin, as well as four firearms. A 10-year-old boy was also living in the home.
District Attorney Katz emphasized the community risks associated with illegal drugs and weapons, stating that efforts to combat such activities will persist.
Those arrested include Ancil Hazelwood, 48, Courtney Jackson, 32, Malik Lewis, 43, Domonique Sierra, 37, and Jessica Smythe, 28. All reside at the 100th Avenue address where the search was executed. The defendants were arraigned on multiple counts, including criminal possession of controlled substances in various degrees, criminal possession of weapons, use of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Judge Edwin Novillo scheduled the next court appearance for September 25. Convictions could lead to sentences of up to 30 years.
The search, carried out at approximately 4:40 a.m. on September 20, yielded the following:
- 2,387 grams of cocaine mixed with fentanyl
- 1,676 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl
- Crack cocaine
- Psilocybin mushrooms
- Three scales with cocaine residue
- Four firearms, including a Smith and Wesson .45mm pistol, a Taurus .9mm pistol, a Taurus 410G revolver, and a Zastava .223mm assault rifle
- $1,052 in cash
- Six kilo presses
The 10-year-old boy, son of defendants Lewis and Jackson, was asleep in a bedroom at the time of the search.
