Man Sentenced to 24 Months for Repeated Illegal Reentry into U.S.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Luis Alfredo Lezama-Ramirez, 43, has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for illegal reentry of a removed alien, a violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).

Lezama-Ramirez admitted to reentering the U.S. after being previously deported on June 8, 2018. He had also been deported in 2006, 2009, and 2012. Following the completion of his sentence, he will be deported again. In addition, he was ordered to pay a $100.00 mandatory special assessment fee.

The case was investigated by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr. of the General Crimes Unit led the prosecution.
