LAUREL, DE – A Seaford man faces his sixth DUI charge after causing a hit-and-run crash on Sussex Highway.

64-year-old Graylon Nichols is under arrest following a crash that took place at the intersection of Sussex Highway and Chipmans Lane. Troopers, responding to the crash scene, found that Nichols had fled after causing the accident. The sequence of events shows Nichols deviated from his lane on Sussex Highway, collided with road signs, and eventually hit a Jeep Comanche. The Jeep’s driver, a 65-year-old Laurel woman, suffered minor injuries.

Nichols was later stopped by a patrolling trooper near County Seat Highway and Concord Road. Upon interaction, the trooper identified signs of impairment in Nichols. Although Nichols refused sobriety tests, records revealed this is his sixth DUI-related arrest.
