Bicyclist Struck and Killed in D.C. Crash

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 24-year-old man died in the hospital after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle in Northwest, D.C. last week.

The incident occurred last Tuesday at approximately 12:44 a.m. Nijad Huseynov was riding eastbound in the bicycle lane on the 1700 block of L Street. A silver 2014 Toyota Camry hit him as he crossed Connecticut Avenue and was ejected from his bicycle.

Huseynov was taken to a local hospital, where he died on Saturday. The driver of the Toyota Camry remained at the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to call (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.
