Deadly Crash Claims Life of Elderly New York Woman

BURTONSVILLE, MD – A collision on Columbia Pike is being investigated by detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU). The incident occurred on Monday.

At around 12:05 pm, both 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the crash at the Columbia Pike and Blackburn Rd. intersection.

Preliminary findings suggest that a 2019 Ford Escape halted on Columbia Pike was rear-ended by a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The impact propelled both vehicles through the crossroad.

The Toyota’s passenger, 70-year-old Bridget Corcoran-Martin of Westhampton, NY, was pronounced dead on site.

Both vehicles’ drivers were hospitalized with non-critical injuries.
