by Breaking Local News Report

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department reported an arrest made on December 9, 2023, involving a traffic stop in the area of Columbia Ave and Pear Street. A Cumberland Police Officer, while patrolling the residential area, noticed a sedan with West Virginia registration parked illegally at the corner, obstructing a handicapped sidewalk ramp.

Upon initiating contact with the driver and passenger, who claimed they were lost and stopped to seek directions, the police identified the passenger as Destiny Renee Amtower from Keyser, West Virginia. Subsequent checks revealed that Amtower had outstanding warrants from Keyser, WV. She was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for extradition to West Virginia, following consultation with the District Court Commissioner.

The driver, identified only as Stacy and also a resident of Keyser, WV, was issued a warning for the parking infraction and provided directions back to Keyser.

Destiny Renee Amtower, 39, faces charges as a fugitive on the original West Virginia charges of Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.
