by Local News Report

QUEENS, NY — Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz today announced the arraignment of Abdul Rahman, 32, on a 140-count indictment. The charges include falsifying business records, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and illegal voting in connection with the Democratic primary election in August 2022.

Rahman, residing on 257th Street in Floral Park, Queens, is accused of submitting falsified absentee ballot applications. Justice Toni Cimino set his court return for January 30, 2024. Rahman faces a maximum of seven years in prison if convicted.

“Every vote counts. We’re committed to preserving election integrity and will prosecute any threats to it,” stated Katz. Vincent Ignizio, Deputy Executive Director of the Board of Elections, commended the District Attorney’s Office for its efforts in investigating and indicting the case, emphasizing the collective responsibility to protect democracy and the election process.
