Newark Police Seek Assistance in Locating Female Suspect in Assault Case

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Iyanna Miller, also known as Iyanna Smith, 35, who is wanted for questioning related to an assault that took place on January 3, 2024. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Springfield Avenue.

According to the report, the victim was leaving an event when she was attacked by Miller (a.k.a. Smith), who struck her on the left side of her face, followed by multiple punches and slaps. The victim was subsequently transported to University Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Miller (a.k.a. Smith) is described by detectives as being 5’11” tall, with a dark complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is urging anyone with information about Miller’s whereabouts to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips provided to the Crime Stopper line are confidential and could lead to a reward.
