Hanover, MD – A tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred on February 7, 2024, around 7:40 AM, on Annapolis Road (Route 175) at Piedmont Lane in Hanover, resulting in one fatality. According to the Anne Arundel County Police, a 2015 Dodge Dart attempting to turn left from eastbound Annapolis Road onto Piedmont Lane was hit by a 2020 Tesla Model X traveling westbound. The impact caused the Dodge Dart to overturn, and both vehicles eventually came to a halt on a grassy area adjacent to the road.
The collision resulted in the death of the Dodge Dart’s driver, who was declared deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County EMS. The victim has since been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Remarkably, the Tesla’s driver did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
The Anne Arundel County Police Traffic Safety Section has taken charge of the investigation into the crash. As of now, further details about the cause of the accident or any contributing factors have not been released.
