Nalah T. Jackson, 25, has pleaded guilty to kidnapping two infant boys from Ohio, leading to a harrowing series of events that ended with one child abandoned in an airport parking lot and the other left alone in a stolen car during a snowstorm.
The U.S. Department of Justice in the Southern District of Ohio announced that Jackson faces 20 years in prison as part of her plea agreement, although a date for the sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled.
The incident began on December 19, 2022, when the boys’ mother briefly left her running Honda Accord outside a Donatos Pizza in Columbus, Ohio, with her children inside. Jackson seized this opportunity to steal the vehicle, with the infants still inside, and embarked on a journey across Ohio. The first child was found abandoned in a parking lot at the Daytona International Airport early on December 20, 2022, by a passerby who alerted security.
Jackson continued her flight to Indianapolis, where she eventually abandoned the stolen car with the second baby still strapped in his car seat in the back. This child was left alone for over two days until he was discovered, following extensive searches by family members, concerned citizens, and law enforcement.
