Arrest Made in Connection to 2022 Unsolved NYC Murder Case

In connection with an ongoing investigation, Juan Peguero, a 23-year-old male residing at 70 Hawthorne Street in Yonkers, was arrested and charged on Thursday, February 15, at approximately 11:50 AM within the confines of the 34 Precinct.

He faces charges of Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

On Monday, July 11, 2022, at approximately 8:35 PM, police responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot in front of 187 Sherman Avenue within the confines of the 34 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found Erni Garcia, a 24-year-old male residing at 5056 Broadway in New York, with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS transported Garcia to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
