Annapolis, MD – A recent contraband interception at the Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facility has led to charges against a visitor and an inmate, showcasing the effectiveness of coordinated law enforcement efforts.

On January 22, 2024, correction officers thwarted an attempt by 26-year-old Caitlyn Nicole Cain, of Pasadena, to smuggle suspected Suboxone into the facility. Cain was immediately arrested and charged.

Investigations by the Anne Arundel County Police Criminal Gang Unit and the Department of Detention Facility Security Threat Group Unit pinpointed 24-year-old inmate Malique Gabriel Williams, also from Pasadena, as the intended recipient of the drugs. Williams, found to have knowledge of the smuggling plan, was charged on February 9.
