Fredrick Woman Struck While Riding Motorized Wheelchair Passes Away

Frederick, MD – The Frederick Police Department is currently investigating a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a local resident.

On February 6,, at about 10:30 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a collision at the intersection of Key Parkway and Willowdale Drive.

The incident involved a 2010 Honda Accord and a motorized wheelchair.

Peggy Nazelrod of Frederick, MD, who was operating the motorized wheelchair, sustained severe injuries after being struck by the vehicle as she crossed the roadway. She was transported to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown for treatment.

On February 17, the Frederick Police Department received notification that Ms. Nazelrod had passed away due to her injuries.

The department’s Crash Reconstruction Team has taken charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances leading to this unfortunate event.
