Park Avenue Armed Carjacking Was a Coordinated Effort, NYPD

New York, NY – A carjacking occurred on Friday, December 1, 2023, around 9:50 AM, on Park Avenue, involving a 61-year-old male victim. The incident involved a coordinated effort by suspects using a red sedan and a dark-colored minivan to trap the victim’s vehicle from the front and rear.

An unidentified male exited the red sedan, approached the victim while simulating possession of a firearm, and forcibly removed the victim from his car. The suspect then took control of the victim’s vehicle and fled northbound on Park Avenue. Despite the traumatic experience, no physical injuries were reported following the incident.

Authorities are currently investigating the carjacking and are on the lookout for the suspect and the stolen vehicle. The police urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the recovery of the vehicle and the apprehension of the suspect involved.
