PHILADELPHIA, PA – A violent confrontation on a SEPTA bus on the evening of March 5, 2024, led to a fatal shooting and has triggered an urgent appeal for public assistance from the Philadelphia Police Department. The altercation occurred around 6:38 pm in the vicinity of 1300 Snyder Avenue, where an argument between two male passengers escalated dramatically.
The suspect, armed with a handgun, fired multiple shots at the victim, causing fatal injuries. Following the shooting, the gunman fled the scene, entering the Snyder Avenue and Broad Street SEPTA station and boarding a southbound subway train. The police have noted that the suspect had been observed on SEPTA property on several occasions prior to the incident.
Authorities have provided a detailed description of the suspect: a black male with twisted braids, wearing a black puffy jacket with a red lining in the hood, a black ski mask featuring a Nike logo, light grey pants, black shoes, and a distinctive dark mark or possibly a tattoo under his left eye.
The Philadelphia Police Department urges anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward as they work to apprehend the individual responsible for this tragic incident.
