CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has made public surveillance footage of a suspect implicated in the murder of a local convenience store owner. Mohammad Hanif, 50, from Annandale, VA, was the victim of a fatal assault that occurred early this month. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the individual responsible.

On March 5, just before 8:00 am, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Larchmont Avenue after reports of an unresponsive man inside a store. Hanif was discovered with significant head injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds on March 8. The initial investigation suggests the suspect assaulted Hanif during a theft, escaping afterward on a bicycle.
