Woman Assaulted and RObbed in NYC Subway Station Despite National Guard Push

NEW YORK, NY – A 25-year-old female was assaulted in an attempted robbery at the Steinway Street subway station, police report. The incident occurred early Friday morning, as the victim disembarked from a northbound ‘E’ train and walked on the platform. An unidentified assailant punched her numerous times in the face in an attempt to steal her purse before fleeing on the same northbound train. Despite the assault, the victim declined medical treatment.

The suspect, described as a female with a dark complexion and short hair, was last observed wearing a dark-colored long coat, white sneakers, and carrying a multi-colored backpack. Authorities are actively searching for the individual and urge anyone with information to come forward to aid in their investigation.
