WASHINGTON, DC – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has made arrests in a case that shocked the community of Northwest, D.C. Three teenage girls have been charged in connection with the death of 64-year-old Reggie Brown, whose body was found with signs of assault in the early hours of October 17, 2023.
Responding to a call, Fourth District officers discovered Brown at approximately 12:54 a.m. in the 6200 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering from trauma indicative of a violent assault.
An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed blunt force trauma as the cause of death, leading to the ruling of homicide. In a significant development on March 28 and 29, 2024, two 13-year-old girls and one 12-year-old girl, all from Northwest D.C., were arrested on charges of Second Degree Murder, under orders from the D.C. Superior Court.
This tragic case underscores the disturbing reality of youth involvement in serious crimes within the city, as the police continue their efforts to address and prevent such violence.
