SEWICKLEY, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department has announced charges against two individuals, Monica Hinda, 27, and Shayne Quinn, 38, the Chief of the Cochran Hose Company, in a hit and run case that occurred on March 24. The incident, investigated by the department’s General Investigations Unit following a request from the Sewickley Police Department, occurred at Chestnut Street and Thorn Street.
The investigation was propelled by surveillance footage from the Cochran Hose Company fire station, which captured a vehicle driven by Hinda crashing into a parked vehicle after failing to stop at a stop sign.
Footage shows Hinda and an unidentified individual moving the damaged vehicle across the street to the fire station premises.
Further surveillance revealed Quinn’s arrival at the scene and his assistance in removing Hinda’s vehicle. Another person is seen driving Quinn’s vehicle, transporting Hinda from the scene. It was also discovered that Hinda reported the incident to her insurance as an “animal strike” the following day.
