NESQUEHONING, PA – A devastating fire engulfed a home on the 200 block of East Railroad Street early in the morning, according to the Nesquehoning Hose Company. The blaze, reported at around 7:30 a.m., quickly escalated to two alarms before firefighters were able to contain the flames.

In the aftermath, a GoFundMe campaign reveals the severe impact on the resident family. The family, according to loved ones, has lost everything in the fire, including two pets. Denise Carlton, the campaign organizer, is seeking financial support for Lisa Bennek and her family during this trying time.

Compounding the tragedy, Carlton shared that Bennek’s daughter, Violet, was forced to jump from the roof to escape the flames, resulting in injuries. Further exacerbating the family’s plight is the lack of house insurance at the time of the fire.

Firefighting teams from Lehighton were also dispatched to assist in battling the fire, highlighting the community’s efforts to support the affected family.
