Elderly Pedestrian Killed by Elderly Driver in Wall

FREEHOLD, NJ — Authorities are currently investigating an incident in Wall Township where a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Thursday.

The collision occurred at approximately 11:22 AM on Monday, at the intersection of Route 35 and Warren Avenue. A 2007 Maserati, driven by an 82-year-old man, was making a left turn onto State Route 35 southbound when he collided with a 78-year-old male pedestrian. The pedestrian, who was crossing from east to west in the crosswalk at the time, sustained life-threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Maserati remained at the scene following the accident.
