NEWARK, NJ—Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for the public’s assistance in identifying two male suspects involved in a brutal assault that occurred early on Sunday, April 3, 2024. The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. near a business on Magazine Street close to Ferry Street.
According to reports, the suspects assaulted a man, including kicking him in the head, before fleeing northbound on Magazine Street. The victim was subsequently transported to University Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
The Newark Police Department is actively investigating the case and hopes to make swift progress with the help of community members.
